Biography:

Ali Dvorscek’s research is focussed on understanding mucosal immune responses to viral infection and vaccination in humans. Currently she is investigating the antibody response in humans following influenza challenge, where she hopes to characterise these antibodies and understand how they differ in the mucosa and systemic response. Ali hopes to build on this work further, investigating the cellular immune response in the upper respiratory tract following viral infection, to understand how vaccines can be optimised to elicit protective humoral immunity.

Ali studied a Bachelor of Biomedical Science and Bachelor of Science at Monash University, Australia before undertaking her BBSc(Hons) and PhD in the lab of Prof David Tarlinton, where she investigated the factors that regulate and promote protective B cell and antibody responses.
