Biography
I obtained my Bachelor of Sciences in Nursing at McMaster University in 2008 and initially worked as a nurse in Ghana within an NGO specialising in community care and public health for older adults. I moved back to Canada, working in paediatric intensive care and spending some time overseas setting up mobile health clinics in a rural part of Nigeria. In 2010 I moved to the UK and after a short placement in PICU at the John Radcliffe hospital, I joined the Oxford Vaccine Group as one of the Paediatric Research Nurses working across a broad spectrum of vaccine clinical trials. I obtained a Diploma in Tropical Nursing at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 2013 and moved into a Senior Research Nurse role overseeing the set up and conduct of adult clinical trials and enteric fever challenge studies. I am currently working with the Experimental Human Pneumococcal Challenge (EHPC) team preparing their clinical unit for their first clinical trial.
