Biography

Jesus Reine obtained a BSc in Biology from the Universidad de Granada (Spain) in 2002. During his studies, he received the undergraduate university scholarship from the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science (MEC, Spain). After completion he worked as a research collaborator from 2002 to 2004 in the Department of Cell Biology, Faculty of Sciences in the Universidad de Granada. In 2002/2003 he obtained the Postgraduate Teacher Certification (CAP) at the Universidad de Granada, and in 2002-4 he obtained the Master of Advanced Studies (MSc) with the highest qualification.

In 2004/05 he obtained the prestigious Pre-doctoral research fellowship CAM (Comunidad Autnoma de Madrid, Madrid, Spain) and he started his PhD related to a CD3 gamma primary immunodeficiency, using transformed T cells (based at the School of Medicine at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain). In 2006, he collaborated on a clinical trial with the pharmaceutical Bristol Myers Squibb in the same department. After he obtained his PhD in 2011, he worked from 2010 to 2014 in a biotech industry related to the development of flow cytometry panels and single antibodies. In 2014 he came back to academia and he started a postdoctoral position in the Department of Clinical Sciences of the LSTM under the direction of Dr. Daniela Ferreira. He is also the manager of the flow cytometry service of the LSTM.
