Prior to joining the Draper group, he obtained a PhD in molecular virology from King's College London for his work on several aspects of adeno-associated virus biology, carried out in the laboratory of Dr Els Henckaerts and Prof Michael Linden. Martino holds an engineering MSc degree in Life Sciences and Technologies with a specialisation in molecular medicine from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL).
He is a Junior Research Fellow at Wolfson College, a guest lecturer on the Biological Therapeutics MSc course, and a Retained Lecturer in Medicine at Pembroke College.
