Biography

Mohamed Shamji is a Professor of Immunology and Allergy, Head of Immunomodulation and Tolerance Group and Principal Investigator within the section of Inflammation, Repair and Development and Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London. 

Professor Shamji studies the underpinning mechanisms of allergen immunotherapy on cellular/humoral and molecular levels and how it induces immunological and clinical tolerance. His research involved identification of novel biomarkers for monitoring clinical efficacy of allergen immunotherapy. He has established several omics tools such as O-LINK assays, single-cell RNA-seq and single-cell ATAC-seq assays in addition to basic immunology immunophenotyping and a robust bioinformatic support group that operates extensive data integration and analyses.
