Biography
Am a Senior Science Officer working at the Uganda National Council For Science and Technology, l head the Research Compliance and Quality Assurance Unit at the UNCST. Generally, my work at UNCST involves a range of human research participants’ protection activities including; (i)Guiding the Accreditation Programme for Research Ethics Committees in Uganda, (ii) Coordinating development of research guidelines and policies, (iii) Monitoring of research ethics committees in Uganda (iii) Monitoring approved research projects; (iv) Coordinating short term trainings in basic research ethics; (v) Evaluating research protocols for their scientific and ethical appropriateness. I also serve as an IRB/REC member on National HIV/AIDS Research Committee (NARC). I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences (BASS) and a Master Degree Health Services Research (MHSR) from Makerere University. Am currently pursuing a PhD in Bioethics with College of Health Sciences, Makerere University. Research interests are around the ethics of Human Infection Studies in low resource settings.
