How does typhoid hijack human cell biology?

The bacterial pathogen Salmonella Typhi causes typhoid fever, which is a global health problem.

Dr Daniel Humphreys and his team at the Department of Biomedical Science, University of Sheffield, investigate how Salmonella attacks the DNA in human cells to rewire our biology and evade detection by our immune system.

With HIC-Vac funding, they have created an animation to explain their important research.
