Biography

Godwin Tembo's professional goal is to become an infection and immunity research scientist leading a highly specialised laboratory research unit that is focused on identifying promising and relevant pathogen or immune targets that can interrupt pathogenesis. He hopes to generate evidence that will support translational medicine that will feed into clinical research and health policy, to reduce the burden of endemic and emerging infectious disease in his country and globally.

He is interested in both the biology and immunology of clinically relevant pathogens with a focus on immune responses that correlate with protection from infection or disease. His current research project is on humoral immune to 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine and experimental pneumococcal challenge in healthy young adults.
