Biography

Dr. Ahmed Adel Seida obtained his bachelor degree in Veterinary Medical Sciences in 2003 from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt, followed by a Masters degree in Immunology in 2006 also from Cairo University. Egypt. His thesis was on the topic "Preparation of Monoclonal Antibodies against Tetanus Toxoid and evaluation of its neutralizing potentials". He was appointed first as a Teaching/Research Assistant in 2004 and then as a Senior Teaching/Research assistant in 2006-2008 at the Immunology and Microbiology Department, Cairo University, Egypt. In 2008, the prestigious Marie-Curie scholarship (funded by the European Union) was awarded to him, giving him the opportunity to improve his knowledge in immunogenetics at the Department of Immunology, Medical Faculty, Rostock University, Germany. In November 2012, Dr Ahmed was awarded a PhD degrees in Immunology from Würzburg University, Germany. In November 2013 he completed a diploma in Vaccinology from Pasteur Institute, Paris, France. Following this, till November 2018, he was appointed as a University Lecturer of Immunology, Vaccinology and Microbiology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University. Since November 2018 Dr Ahmed has been  an Assistant Professor and his research interests are autogenous killed vaccines manufacturing against bacterial pathogens affecting livestock as well as humans from a zoonotic perspective, monoclonal antibody production for therapeutic and diagnostic usage and antimicrobial resistance research.
