Biography
Sudaxshina Murdan, PhD, B.Pharm, is a Reader at UCL School of Pharmacy (SOP). She is a pharmacist and pharmaceutical scientist. Her research is in vaccines and medicines. Current projects include the development of parenteral and mucosal e.g. sublingual vaccines for human and veterinary use, specifically vaccines against polio, COVID-19 and Clostridioides difficile infections, feed-based vaccines for farmed fish, parenteral vaccines against tick-borne diseases in livestock and the development of metal nanoparticles as antifungal drugs.
She teaches undergraduates and postgraduates in the Pharmaceutical Sciences, is passionate about the research-education interface, and is training students and local authority community engagement officers to become vaccination champions and help address vaccine hesitancy. She is a Green Champion, leads the SOP EDI Community Action Group and is the UCL Faculty of Life Sciences Lead for EDI (Religion and Belief). In 2022, she was shortlisted for a UCL Staff equality network member of the year award, which recognises an individual for their voluntary contribution to a staff equality network, recognising impactful activities and commitment to EDI.
