Biography

I work in projects focused on the development of a vaccine to control all types of enteric fever, which is a major problem in low and middle income countries and also affects many travelers from the UK to these regions every year. I work in the laboratory testing and evaluating candidate vaccines and the immune response to them using samples from clinical trials conducted in the UK. The aim of the work is to provide key data that could support the further development or licensing of these candidate vaccines using immunological and microbiological techniques including processing and cataloging of blood samples, reagent preparation, data analysis and general lab duties such as maintaining supplies, consumables and equipment. Previously, I worked for four years in the gene therapy field at Imperial College London as a Research Associate and 5 years in industry as senior scientist in stem cell research. My PhD was on HIV immunology (University of Oxford).
