Biography
Dr Stephen Lockhart is Vice President and Head of Europe and Asia-Pacific Vaccine clinical Research and Development (VCRD) at Pfizer. He initially led Pfizer's initial clinical trial program on the Pfizer/BioNTech mRNA COVID-19 and now provides support to the continuing program. He currently also supports a phase 3 Clostridium difficile vaccine, extension of TBE vaccine to new countries and a preclinical influenza RNA vaccine. He also manages clinical teams in Europe, Australia and Japan.
Over many years, Dr Lockhart has worked on the development of vaccines against influenza, varicella, respiratory syncytial virus, H. Influenzae type b, anthrax, tuberculosis, pneumococcus, meningococcus, Clostridiodes difficile, Staphylococcus aureus, tick borne encephalitis (TBE) and typhoid as well as paediatric combination vaccines. He participated in the development of a typhoid CHIM and testing of a live vaccine candidate in the model. He also supports a mRNA influenza vaccine program including a clinical study in an influenza CHIM.
