Biography
I am a dedicated research-oriented laboratory scientist with more than four years research experience in studying infectious pathogens of significant public health concern. I have worked on several research projects including rotavirus and pneumococcal conjugate vaccines projects. Currently, I am working as a Research Assistant for the first streptococcus pneumoniae human infection challenge model in Malawi, the MARVELS PCV13 project. During the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, I worked at the forefront of Malawi’s response to the pandemic by conducting different SARS-CoV-2 laboratory assays to describe the national serological response and refine vaccination strategy.
My long-term goal is to become an independent researcher in infectious diseases and to develop reliable scientific tools and knowledge that will be able to inform public health policies on the control of infectious diseases in low-income countries like Malawi.
